HOTEL DEL LUNA

Nestled deep in the heart of the capital's thriving downtown sits a curious hotel, the like of which no one has ever seen before. Old beyond the measure, the building has stood for millennia, an ever-present testament to the fact that things are not always what they seem.

Running this hotel is Jang Manwol, a greedy, suspicious soul who has spent the past thousand years acting as the establishment's owner. However, there is a mystery behind the hotel, as it was established for the catering to the needs of a most peculiar clientele; cold creatures of old and forgotten tales. Ghosts, grim reapers and rather special humans.

The hotel stands tall and enthralling especially during full moons to invite guests from all over the city. It has everything a ghost would need to rest before they visit the tea shop of the hotel, where they will be accompanied to the other world.

THE GHOSTS

More often than not, ghosts are believed to inhabit abandoned villages and buildings. It is said that these spirits wander the earth because they have unfinished business. However, the more a ghost wanders around the earth, the more trouble they tend to create. That is why, most of them find their way to Del Luna during the full moon, either to stay as a guest or work as a part of the staff.

― The oldest ghost can be 1500 years old, died during the three kingdoms (Silla, Goguryeo and Baekje) era.
― Ghosts can sense other ghosts and grim reapers, they can pass through walls and their face can change based on their emotions, especially when they show wrath.
― Most of them can remember their past lives.
― They can possess human bodies for a day when they wish to do so.
― Those who pass from Sanzu River forget everything about their past lives and heads to the afterlife.

THE GRIM REAPERS

Charged with the duty of guiding both good and evil souls to the afterlife. Even though they are said to be harsh and cruel characters, they are quite harmless and are merely scouts for the Great King Yomna, who rules the underworld. They are in charge of finding lost souls and guide them to the Sanzu River. Because of the big sins, they commit (such as killing a big number of people, killing themselves or ruining a country), they become a grim reaper.

― They do not remember their past lives or their exact age. However, the longest they can work as a Grim Reaper is 1500 years; ever since the three kingdoms (Silla, Goguryeo and Baekje) era.
― Rarely, sudden incidents might trigger them to remember a blurry memory of their past.
― They can see a human's past life if they have physical contact with them. Most of the Grim Reapers avoid doing it.
― They have powers such as telekinesis, erasing memories (only if they have to and before they send a soul to Sanzu River), time freezing. The level of their powers increases based on the years they lived as a Grim Reaper.
― Grim reapers have a set of cards with the details of souls written on it, some of them prefer to use technological devices. When they go to collect the souls, they confirm the details and then lead the souls to Del Luna.
― They appear at the age they have died.

THE GOBLINS

Goblin, also known as Dokkaebi are nature deities or spirits possessing extraordinary powers and abilities that are used to interact with humans, at times playing tricks on them and at times helping them. They are different from ghosts, in that they are not formed by the death of a human being, but rather by the spiritual possession of an inanimate object such as old discarded household tools like brooms, or objects stained with human blood.

― They have immense supernatural powers, can bring good harvests, big catches and great fortunes to humans, and are defenders against evil spirits.
― Through rituals, they can be attached to a place or human, or vice versa, rituals might rituals to chase away goblins.
― They cannot be part of Del Luna's staff due to their nature but are often a long time guests.

THE HUMANS

They are mortals, most of them are descendants of shamans or had pulled through a deathly illness or accident: had faced death once before. Therefore, they can see ghosts and/or grim reapers. They are either the regular customers or staff members of Del Luna, working either full time or part time.

― Most of them have their jobs out of the hotel and find Del Luna while following a ghost or a grim reaper.
― In their regular life, most of them try to hide the fact that they can see ghosts and/or grim reapers.
